When Christmas Doesn't Feel Like Christmas
I walked into Hallmark today and my little heart filled with so much cheer that I thought it'd explode and pop a bunch of Christmas confetti. But then I left the little holiday paradise & walked back outside into the pouring rain. And I was reminded that a lot of hearts may be feeling soaked by the rain rather than sprinkled in holiday cheer this Christmas.
So if you're not feeling the joy, love, and peace of Jesus this season, or if you're feeling far from family and friends, or maybe even heartbroken & alone in this world, think of this as my Hallmark card to you:
"Hey, girlfriend. I want to remind you that you deserve the magic wrapped up in every "Merry Christmas", the cheer hummed in every carol, the twinkle in every light, and the joy bundled up in the gift of Jesus. Even if this week isn't Hallmark-material for you, I pray that you unpack it. That you choose to look for His gifts. That you choose joy despite all circumstances. Because you're worth it. Your heart is beautiful. It's radiant. It's full of life. Don't forget that with a little bit of love, a glimpse of grace, and a whole lot of Jesus you can do really, really hard things. You can find peace in the pain and meaning in the struggle. Remember that you're truly not alone. So, chin up. Smile this season. He was born to remind you that you're worth every bit of it. And you are loved."
